"Let me know if you need anything!"

Is this something you've heard over and over from friends and family when you were first diagnosed? It was the most common thing people would say to me, and I'm never sure what I should say back.

Totally resonates with me as a transplant pt.

It easily becomes a burden vs how it was intended, as help...

I wish I could direct people somewhere for things or services (or $), that were gaps vs another flower delivery..

Do you ever actually answer "yes - want to drop off dinner tonight?" or anything like that??!!

I bet friends would LOVE to do that!

It’s a double edged sword. I think the majority of people who say this truly mean it but don’t know what to suggest. On the receiving end, you know you need help but also aren’t sure of specifics. I made a post about this a few months back to help both sides of the conversation. https://www.instagram.com/p/CrJpH5jJvq-/?img_index=1
