How did you tell your family?

After receiving your diagnosis, how did you tell your family and friends? If you were working at the time, how did you tell your employer?

I was in high school so my parents were involved in the immediate diagnosis. I’m from a very small town so once one friend knew, the word spread quick. This was 15 ish years ago - before social media and before technology was at the point it is today. I’m a pretty private person when it comes to my personal life so I think having to tell people in present day would be challenging for me.
